So, who is Gertie?

When I was a little girl, I was nicknamed Gertrude, Gertie for short, by my mom and dad because I was the only redhead in the immediate family. I don't know what the name Gertrude and red hair have in common, but it stuck. No one outside my immediate family circle called me Gertie. It was unknown to the rest of the world. That was until my grandkids came along. That's when I decided to let that be my grandma name. Now, I'm known to Gertie by many loved ones.
My husband, Mike, and I love to travel. There isn't a place on this planet that we don't want to experience. We've stayed in the finest of fine and the budgety of budgets. I know what makes a place feel like home and what brings a sparkle of joy to our trips. It isn't always about the size or location of a home, it's about the comforts, thoughtful touches and the hospitality of the hosts. We are hoping that we can be that special host for you. We are always working to improve our spaces and provide that WOW experience. Our first vacation rental home was purchased in 2011 on the Island of Kauai. After more than 10 years of experience hosting families and friends, we decided to bring a little Aloha to the Mainland and buy a home in the mountains of Southern New Mexico. So whether it's beach or mountains, ocean or snow skiing, Gertie's got you handled.
